Organist Scott Hanoian to Present Concert for Divinity's 65th Anniversary

On October 18, we will welcome back organist Scott Hanoian for a concert to celebrate Divinity Lutheran's 65th anniversary.  A freewill offering will be taken, but there is no charge for admission.  A reception will follow the concert.

Scott Hanoian is the eighth Director of Music and Organist at Christ Church Grosse Pointe, where he directs the church’s Choir of Men and Boys, Choir of Men and Girls, the Christ Church Chorale, and oversees the yearly concert series. Mr. Hanoian is active as an organist, accompanist, continuo artist, conductor, choral adjudicator, and guest clinician.


West Shore Chorale to Present a Concert of Lenten Music

We are pleased to announce that the West Shore Chorale will be presenting a concert at Divinity Lutheran Church on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at 3:00 PM. The program will feature music for the season of Lent, and a complete performance of Gabriel Fauré's Requiem.  Admission is free of charge, with a freewill offering being taken to support Arts in Action and its Scholarship Fund.  The concert will be followed by a wine and cheese reception.

The Blue Point Music String Quartet

Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3PM in the Sanctuary

Take your place in the annals of music history and join the Blue Point Music String Quartet in the world premiere performance of Stephen P. Brown's String Quartet 1. Blue Point Music String Quartet (including Divinity's Dr. Alexandra Vago) will also perform Bertold Hummel's Eine Kleine Streichmusik (A Little String Music), and a few other surprises, too. This concert is FREE and open to the public.

Concert Pianist Clifford Smith to Perform Benefit Recital

World renowned Composer and Concert Pianist, Clifford Smith, will be featured on Saturday, November 10th, at 7:00 PM, in a special benefit recital of his selected original works for the piano, presented by the Divinity Lutheran Church Arts in Action Concert Series. Mr. Smith is performing to honor Pastor Donald Hesterman for his many years of extraordinary service to the Parish of Divinity Lutheran Church and the spiritual friendship he has had with Mr. Smith's father, Bud Smith, and the Smith Family. This recital will be performed in the Church Sanctuary and a freewill offering will be taken to benefit Tina Heise, who is studying in Seminary to become a Lutheran Pastor.


Fall Festival Board Game and Card Party

Arts in Action invites you to our first annual Fall Festival Board Game and Card Party on Sunday, November 18 from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall. There will be table prizes and a Chinese basket auction. Admission will be $10.00 per person. Bring a friend or your card playing buddies. Bring your own cards and/or board games.
